Apple Picking reminder from Shara Israel

Dear All,

Just a reminder about our fun apple picking trip to Silverman's Farm this Sunday 9/23. We will meet there around 10:30ish, buy an empty bag/s of any size/s you want, take a hay ride up to the top of the apple hill, and pick apples!!!! At about 11:30 ish, we will meet back down below at the small petting zoo and picnic tables to eat our own lunches, write cards to Israeli soldiers, and do some Rosh Hashana related arts and crafts. I will also be collecting money to send to Sderot organizations.

We really hope to see all of you there. It's always a fun time. Please feel free to call me or Sharon Shavrick with any questions.

Shana Tova,
Shara

An Announcement from National Council of Young Israel

New York, NY – September 20, 2007 – As Jews prepare to mark Yom Kippur, the National Council of Young Israel reminds our communities, in a series of commercials that aired on Thursday, September 20, 2007, to pray for the release of Ehud Goldwasser, Eldad Regev, and Gilad Shalit, Israeli soldiers kidnapped by terrorists over a year ago, and the United States Defense Forces stationed around the world.

As we beseech G-d in somber tones to recall our good deeds and grant us a safe new year, the fate of Ehud, Eldad and Gilad is uncertain: this is their 2nd Yom Kippur in captivity, their whereabouts are unknown, and their distraught families travel around the world to pressure governments and human watch agencies to sway terrorist captors.

The National Council of Young Israel also urges prayers for divine protection and support for American military, particularly those serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Commercials aired in the New York area on AM radio 880. The spots also ran in Los Angeles, on AM radio station KFWB 980.
